MSRN detection
This week we have added significant detection of Mobile Subscriber Roaming Number (MSRN) ranges. MSRNs are mobile telephone numbers temporarily assigned to a roaming subscriber so that the home network of the subscriber can route calls to the SIM when it is roaming. Previously we didn't add MSRN detection as MSRNs should not be dialable by the general public as per the GSM technical specification ("The MSRN must not be used for subscriber dialling.").
Multiple customers have asked for MSRNs to be added and so we have included MSRN detection for 120 different countries. We will automatically add more MSRN detection as we work through the different IR21 documents from the network operators.
As usual, we worked closely with the e164 download subscribers to make sure that the new number type of MSRN would be imported into their systems correctly.
End-users should never receive a call from an MSRN, and so CLI validation which highlights an MSRN may be indicative of fraud, a fake CLI, or a switch misconfiguration.

Min / Max number length optimisation
Download subscribers will notice that the file download size has been reduced this week from around 600MB uncompressed to around 400MB uncompressed. As part of our ongoing optimisation of data, we have optimised the prefix + min_length + max_length fields. Previously you may have seen multiple rows for the same prefix if the min/max allowable number length was different. Now you will see as few repeats of prefixes as possible.
Here's an example of a number range where the regulator allows variable length phone numbers, both of these are valid!:
Previously we would have included two seperate rows for the above range, but from this week you will see one range with min/max length of 10/12.
